Simic on the painted-over murals: Kurti continues with anti-Serb policy

Vice President of the Serb List Igor Simic stated that Kurti is continuing with his anti-Serb policy, noting that in the early morning hours unidentified individuals, accompanied by members of the Kosovo Police, desecrated murals dedicated to Patriarch Pavle and Metropolitan Amfilohije in North Mitrovica.

Simic added that the graffiti “From here there is no going back” was also painted over.

“That graffiti was something North Mitrovica was recognized for. Members of the Kosovo Police also broke into the yard of the Technical School and painted over the walls there. The torture and pressure on Serbs and the Serb List continues,” Simic said.

Regarding the Serb List’s appeal to the Election Complaints and Appeals Panel in Pristina against the Central Election Commission’s decision not to certify their candidates for the October 12 local elections, Simic said the deadline for a decision expires tomorrow at 11 a.m.

“If the law is upheld, all Serb List candidates will be certified for the local elections, but this should also show representatives of the international community how Kurti envisions democracy and multiethnic life in Kosovo. He only wants Serbs who will nod their heads, which is why he is trying to ban the Serb List,” Simic stated.
