Vice President of the Serb List Ivan Zaporozac told Kosovo Online that members of the Kosovo Police took part during the night in removing several murals in North Mitrovica and Zvecan, including those of Patriarch Pavle, Metropolitan Amfilohije, as well as the well-known mural “From here there is no going back.”

Zaporozac said that these were deliberately provoked incidents aimed at destabilizing the situation in northern Kosovo.

“The day after a magnificent gathering was held right on this square, Kurti’s policemen waged war last night against murals in Mitrovica and Zvecan. It didn’t bother them in the least that they painted over the mural of Patriarch Pavle and Metropolitan Amfilohije, as well as the widely known mural ‘From here there is no going back.’ What I must say from this place to all the citizens of Mitrovica is to remain calm, because these are deliberately provoked incidents orchestrated by Kurti’s police, which seeks conflict in these areas. It won’t be long—local elections are coming—and we will restore everything as it was. Finally, to Kurti and everyone who last night fought against the murals, I say this: from here there is no going back,” Zaporozac declared.

He emphasized that at the upcoming elections, citizens will have the opportunity to demonstrate unity and determination to preserve their identity and freedom in these areas.
