Simic: Resistance to tyranny is the only way to stay on our centuries-old hearths
Igor Simic, vice-president of the Serbian List, told Pink that until now we have not had the opportunity to hear clear statements from Western international representatives when Serbs were mistreated and abused by Pristina.
He stated that the statements of certain ambassadors and representatives of the international community, which we heard last, do not surprise the Serbs in Kosovo.
"What is very important to say is that the key to solving the situation we are currently in is in Pristina, in the hands of those who send special forces armed to the teeth against the bare-handed people, threatening the Serbs at the barricades, how they will remove them by force and how there will be causalities ", Simic says.
He adds "They are simply trying to create such a situation and tensions in every possible way, on the ground or through statements, in order to justify their violent actions against the bare-handed people, who just want to live in peace on their centuries-old hearths," Simic said.
Simic states that "Serbs living in Kosovo and Metohija are worried, and that undoubtedly every statement by Albin Kurti or his police minister resonates in these areas".
"Even though we feel threatened, we are also absolutely determined, because we know that we are right, we know that resistance to tyranny is the only way to stay and survive in these areas. And so far we have shown that we do it democratically in a peaceful way, trying to draw the attention of the international public to the abuse, to the dictatorship, to the repression, to the institutional violence that Pristina is perpetrating against the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija," Simic said.
