Kosovo police today detained Sinisa Spasic from Priluzje, an EPS employee, at Merdare on charges of war crimes in Vucitrn, according to a statement from the Special Prosecution Office. Danijela Spasic, the daughter of the arrested man, confirmed the news for Kosovo Online, stating that her father is currently being held at the Police Directorate in Podujevo, and that the police did not allow her or her mother to speak with him.

Spasic said that representatives of the Kosovo police contacted the family and gave them brief information about Sinisa’s whereabouts.

“My mother and I received a call from the Police Directorate in Podujevo. We were told that my father was arrested today and that he is currently in Podujevo. He has been placed in 48-hour detention,” said Spasic.
She added that she and her mother asked if they could speak with him, but were denied.

“They didn’t let us hear him, nor did they explain what exactly he is being charged with. That’s all I can say for now — we are still in shock. We are in contact with a lawyer,” Spasic said.
