Sladjan Trajkovic received medication after 20 days in custody; he had three surgical interventions

Sladjan Trajkovic, the arrested former Kosovo police officer, after 20 days of detention, received the necessary medication yesterday, which he should take regularly, and in the meantime, since he did not take the prescribed therapy, he had three surgical interventions in two weeks, his wife Suzana Trajkovic said.

She managed to see her husband yesterday, who was arrested on December 15 on charges of alleged war crimes, only for the second time in the prison unit in Podujevo.

"He received all the necessary pills from us only yesterday morning. Although we sent him the therapy immediately after he was taken into custody, they returned all the drugs except one, so Sladjan did not have adequate treatment. That's how the fatty tissue on his head got infected, and he had an intervention fifteen days ago. I don't know under what conditions it was. A large amount of pus was removed from his wound, but it was obviously not done well, so his wound soon became infected again, and he had another intervention, followed by one more," Suzana Trajkovic told Kurir.

She added that it was difficult for the whole family because they spent the New Year and Christmas holidays without Sladjan.

"All this is happening just because we are Serbs, so there is no justice for us here. Here, in the 21st century, a person does not even have the right to the prescribed medical care. I only wish for all this to pass", Suzana Trajkovic said.

Sladjan Trajkovic left the Kosovo police with his colleagues at the beginning of November, and was arrested on December 15 in Bosniak Mahala in North Mitrovica on "suspicion of having participated in a war crime."
