Spokesperson of the US Embassy in Kosovo: Sudden and abrupt changes in institutional statuses risk the provision of critical services to citizens
Sudden and abrupt changes in institutional statuses risk the provision of critical services to Kosovo citizens, the spokesperson of the US Embassy in Pristina stated in response to Kosovo Online regarding the actions of the Kosovo Police over the past two days in North Mitrovica and Zubin Potok.
In a written response, the US Embassy spokesperson in Pristina emphasized the following.
“Security and stability in Kosovo are crucial for the country and the region. It is the responsibility of the Government of Kosovo to ensure all of its citizens can live peacefully and have their needs met. Abrupt changes in institutional statuses risk the provision of critical services to Kosovan citizens. The Government of Kosovo should discuss how the status of these institutions will be resolved in a coordinated manner through established channels, such as the EU-led dialogue,” the response states.
As a reminder, officials from the Regional Waterworks of South Mitrovica entered the premises of the Regional Waterworks in Zubin Potok this morning, from which workers were expelled following the arrival of Kosovo Police and waterworks staff from South Mitrovica.
Over the past two days, Kosovo Police also entered the premises of the Public Utility Company "Ibar Waterworks" in North Mitrovica.
