State Secretary in the Ministry of Defense Nemanja Starovic said that Serbia was faced with the hypocrisy of a significant part of the international community, because, as he pointed out, numerous countries that support Ukraine's territorial integrity, turned a blind eye when it came to Serbia's territorial integrity.

Starovic also told "Al Jazeera" TV that there was a certain level of concern because Serbia had been the target of a propaganda campaign for months, which aimed to falsely accuse it of being some kind of Russian proxy in the Balkans, and assessed that it was so detached from reality, and that Serbia was not anyone's proxy.

"We are pursuing our own policy which is based on two pillars - the first is that we are a militarily neutral country, and the second is our political independence," Starovic pointed out.

As he added, that did not mean that Serbia did not have a principled stance regarding the war in Ukraine, a stance based on universally accepted values.

"With that in mind, we firmly stand behind the territorial integrity of Ukraine, which is of course represented by the way of our voting in the United Nations General Assembly and other international organizations, but at the same time, we are faced with the hypocrisy in the significant part of the international community, where numerous countries are standing behind the territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as we are, but they turn a blind eye when it comes to our territorial integrity, even threatening by supporting separatism in our province of Kosovo and Metohija," Starovic emphasized.
