Starting tomorrow, the number of police officers around municipal buildings in the north will be reduced by 25 percent

The Kosovo Police announced that a work meeting had been held with representatives of EULEX and KFOR on the assessment of the security situation in and around municipal buildings in the north of Kosovo and that it had been jointly assessed that the situation was good, based on which, starting tomorrow the number of the members of the Kosovo Police in that area will be reduced by 25 percent.

The meeting, as stated in the announcement, was held in order to implement the agreements reached in Bratislava on July 10, 2023, between the European Union and Kosovo.

"According to the joint assessment of the Kosovo Police, EULEX, and KFOR, it is estimated that the security situation in and around the buildings of the northern municipalities is good. In terms of this joint finding, starting tomorrow the reduction of members of the Kosovo Police by 25 percent in and around the municipal buildings in the north will begin," it was stated on the Facebook account of the Kosovo Police.

Police teams of Kosovo, together with EULEX and KFOR, it is added, will continue to coordinate and take necessary actions to regularly assess the security situation in and around municipal facilities in the north of Kosovo.
