In Strpce, the 25th anniversary of the NATO bombing was commemorated: May God forbid it
Representatives of the SUBNOR (Alliance of Fighters Associations of People's Liberation Wars) from Strpce today laid flowers at the memorial in the courtyard of the Church of St. John in Strpce, in memory of the beginning of the bombing of the FR Yugoslavia 25 years ago today and all the innocent victims.
The beginning of the NATO bombing, which lasted for a full 78 days, is remembered with sadness by the residents of Strpce.
Representatives of the SUBNOR remind us that it was an aggression that claimed numerous lives.
Novica Krstic, the President of the SUBNOR in Strpce, who laid flowers at the memorial, emphasized that today we remembered all those who had perished in the NATO aggression and expressed the wish that such events never happen again to anyone.
"On this day, 25 years ago, the NATO aggression against Yugoslavia, against our country, began, because Kosovo and Metohija are an integral part of Serbia. It was such aggression... may God forbid anyone to experience aggression where children, the elderly, and women suffer. We pray to God that no aggression ever happens again, not only to our country but to any country," Krstic said.
The memorial in the courtyard of the Church of Saint John in Strpce is dedicated to the members of the army, police, and civilians killed during the wartime conflicts in Kosovo.
