Kosovo's Interior Minister, Xhelal Svecla, announced that following the police raids on the branches of the Postal Savings Bank in northern Kosovo, the police conducted inspections and subsequently closed these branches, describing them as "illegal financial institutions of Serbia."

"In order to establish legality, following requests from the relevant institutions and the prosecutor's authorization, Kosovo Police, in cooperation with the Kosovo Tax Administration, carried out an operation today to inspect and close six units of the so-called Postanska Stedionica Bank in four northern municipalities, deeming them illegal financial institutions of Serbia in Kosovo," Svecla stated on Facebook.

He emphasized that the rule of law and adherence to laws remain the goals for which Kosovo institutions strive.

This afternoon, Kosovo police officers, equipped with bulletproof vests and long-barreled weapons, raided branches of the Postal Savings Bank in North Mitrovica, Leposavic, Zvecan, and Zubin Potok.

The police raids on the Postal Savings Bank branches began simultaneously shortly after 3 PM in all four northern municipalities of Kosovo.

Following the raids, EULEX announced that they had not been informed about the action in advance and that they are "monitoring the situation in North Mitrovica and Zvecan."
