Todic after the hearing: A classic political case is being conducted against us

The president of the Provisional Authority of the Municipality of Leposavic, Zoran Todic, stated today that a political process was being conducted against him and other colleagues who had been called to give statements, with the aim of attacking everything Serbian that remained in Kosovo.

Todic gave his statement after the hearing at the Kosovo Police, accompanied by lawyer Jovana Filipovic.

"Like my colleagues who gave statements yesterday, I am being accused of allegedly forging documents. It is clear that this involves some kind of criminal offense as defined in their criminal code. The essence here is that over the past four years, and even before that, there has been tremendous pressure on everything Serbian here. On everything that still functions and exists in Kosovo. There is no doubt that this is a classic political case and an attack on the institutions of the Republic of Serbia. We have been here, working responsibly in the interest of our people, and now this is an attack on us. The issue is not us as individuals, but the fact that there is daily pressure on the Serbian people, that everything Serbian is being prohibited," Todic said.

He added that the question is how far the authorities in Pristina are willing to go.

"Today, I gave a statement here in the presence of a lawyer. The question is how far the Pristina authorities are prepared to go and what additional pressures they will exert in the coming period. The already difficult position of the Serbian people will be further complicated by this decision to dismantle Serbian institutions in Kosovo and Metohija, making life even harder for our population and our citizens. We’ll see. This is just another step in the series of actions against our people, related to the criminal charges filed against us," Todic said.

"You will be informed in a timely manner about the next steps the Pristina authorities are taking against us," Todic told the media.
