At the end of a concert held today on the promenade in North Mitrovica as part of the jazz festival, Kosovo Police arrested two individuals of Serbian nationality.

As Petrit Fejza, Assistant Commander of the Kosovo Police for the North Region, told Kosovo Online, the two individuals were arrested for disturbing public order and peace.

They are currently at the police station, where they are giving statements.

Earlier today, while two festivals were being held simultaneously in the center of North Mitrovica — one organized by Serbian local businesses and the other by Albanians from South Mitrovica — a large number of special police forces armed with long guns were observed during the arrests. However, the situation is now calm.

The special units have since withdrawn from the center, with around ten members of the “regular” police remaining on the street.

The concert organized by Albanians from the southern part of the city has ended, while a large number of Serbs are still present at local establishments along the promenade.
