UK Embassy: We expect rule of law to be respected in the Popovic case, without politicization

The British Embassy in Pristina stated, in response to the detention of Igor Popovic, Assistant Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, that it expects the case to be handled with full respect for the rule of law and without politicization.

“The British Embassy in Pristina is closely monitoring the case and expects it to be handled with full respect for the rule of law and without politicization,” the embassy told Kosovo Online.

Igor Popovic, who was detained at Brnjak over statements he made about the KLA during a memorial for Serbian victims killed in Orahovac, was ordered yesterday by a court in Pristina to be held in custody for 30 days and was subsequently transferred to a detention facility in Gnjilane.
