Vucic: Albanians are still provoking tonight, but they don't understand that they have no strength in the north
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, pointed out tonight for TV Prva that the country fought to preserve its people in Kosovo and Metohija, but at the same time to preserve peace, which had not been easy this time, and added that the Albanians were still provoking tonight.
Vucic said that this had not been going on since yesterday, that these situations were not created because of one or ten incidents, but that they had been preparing for years and "someone underestimates the state of mind of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, they do not listen and do not want to see what the Serbs are going through, equally in the west as much as the Albanians".
"Albanians do even worse things than we did, thinking that everything can be done by force. They do everything twice. You cannot win the people. And tonight they are playing. They send a KSF team to cross from the southern to the northern part of Mitrovica, then it returned. They provoke," he said.
"They deliberately provoke people. They set up two ROSU points. They don't understand that they have no power in the north. No one was afraid of the Albanians," he added.
Vucic pointed out that they did not understand that they had no strength in the north and that no one was afraid of the Albanians.
"The only thing people don't want is to bring Serbia into conflict with NATO. Albanians can bring Saint Peter, they are not stronger than the Serbs, nor can they do anything in the north," he added.
When asked what the verdict was, he said that they argued all night long about the word barricade, and that he begged NATO to finally come out with a text that would for the first time include the will of the Serbian community and Serbia, and not just the Rasmussen-Tachi agreement.
"Someone says Vucic is celebrating the victory. I'm not. I don't have a smile or a sneer. I don't remember feeling so hard like after the meeting with the Serbs," he said.
Vucic said that the Serbs listened to him, because he told them that he had done his best, and asked if they thought they could see further and better than him, who was in contact with everyone.
"With what we would have presented to the world, they fulfilled all the requirements, everything that was realistic to ask for. Then the Serbs said, “we trust you, no one else is interested in us, neither the parties nor anyone in Serbia, you must guarantee us that if they hunt us like rabbits, we will fight," he said.
Vucic said that it had been the most difficult what he promised. He said he had not wanted to go into details so as not to give the enemy an opportunity to accuse us of anything.
"Serbs could no longer tolerate oppression. They say the Serbs attacked with shock bombs, these are stories for small children. I don't know if there are Serbs with weapons, I don't rule out the possibility," he said, recalling that when the Albanians were in Stimlje with weapons, they were freedom fighters.
He pointed out that the people at the barricades were freedom fighters, and there were scientists, doctors, nurses,...
They were there, he says, because they don't know what to do with themselves.
"Why didn't the Albanians dare to attack for 20 days, even though they would very much like to do that. The first thing they would encounter would be a very hard nut to crack and realize how much, although I do not underestimate anyone, is the fierce resistance of the people. On the other hand, they know that if they mobilize all their forces, they would be faced with the forces of Serbia and they would be wiped out. Don't underestimate your country," he said.
It takes us less than 30 minutes to plow through their entire base with six howitzers
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, pointed out tonight that there had never been such a great response to a call regarding the raising of combat readiness as this time.
He thanked, as he says, the heroes of the gendarmerie, the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit, the Serbian Army...
"In our country, 89 percent, a huge number, tens of thousands of people responded to the invitation. It was about 92 percent, because we also count the number of members of the security forces who are in Cyprus, Lebanon, and other countries in international missions. We have never had such a great response," he explained.
He pointed out that the Albanians in the barracks in Gnjilan had a turnout of only 72 percent, and in southern Mitrovica the Belvedere barracks there had never been more than 77 percent.
"We have never had less resistance and so many good people were ready to fight for Serbia. It was important to them that we keep the peace. Thank you very much, they are real heroes who have never been seen before. In one night, 98 percent of the 63rd brigade, 90 percent of the gendarmerie in one evening. We have never had such a response since 1990, in any situation, especially when it is serious," he said.
He said that it showed that people knew that the country was fighting for peace, but they were also fed up with violations of rights, the rights of our people in Kosovo.
In this regard, he said that research showed that 98 percent of Serbs in the north supported the barricades.
In response to the criticism of the former Chief of the General Staff of the Yugoslav Army Zdravko Ponos regarding the raising of readiness, Vucic said that in our country there were two types of people and media on different poles of the political spectrum.
"You have a liberal concept in which they deny the nation, religion, where the people who destroyed the army, and during whose time Kosovo became independent are. He must be laughing because of the six howitzers that some locators took pictures of. Do you know what six howitzers do? It takes us less than 30 minutes to plow through their entire base with six howitzers. And we had not six, but 18. In his time, we didn't have any, and if we had, he would have destroyed them," Vucic said.
To the claims that he had known about the barricades, Vucic replied that he had not known, nor had the Serbs informed him before erecting them, what he had told them.
"Unlike him and all of them, who belong to the anti-Serbian way of thinking, I will always be with my people, and I will endure all the political and life consequences. I will never go against them. My job is to be with my people," he underlined.
"Vucic said that the citizens gave up the barricades after they received guarantees that they would not be punished for protesting, as well as that the Kosovo Security Forces would not cross to the north without their consent," he added.
"They went so far as to say, 'Vucic lost his license plates in 10 years,' and we keep the license plates that they lost in 2011 with the agreement of Borko Stefanovic. We keep KM plates. That's how we differ, what is the difference between the state today and the state of the past of all Ponos, Solak, and his media. In one day, they released 1,800 Albanian terrorists, including Kurti, Flora Brovina, the Mazrekaj brothers, and we are fighting for Pantic and Nedeljkovic to be released," he emphasized.
