The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, spoke today by phone with three American senators - Chris Murphy, Jeanne Shaheen, and Pete Ricketts about the situation in the north of Kosovo.

Vucic told the American senators clearly and unequivocally that today's arrest of Milun Milenkovic was a provocation and a crime by Albin Kurti, with which he was trying to provoke a war in the heart of Europe.

Also, Vucic pointed out that Serbia was doing everything it could to preserve peace, but that the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija were exposed to the worst torture and persecution in the last 15 years, the press service of the President of the Republic announced.

Senators Murphy, Shaheen, and Ricketts told President Vucic that they demanded restraint and called for peace from Serbia, as that was in the best interest of everyone in the Western Balkans.
