Brnabic: Kurti is causing a new escalation in order to avoid obligations from the agreement

The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, said today, commenting on the latest events in the north of Kosovo, that this was a new provocation, in order for Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti to cause a new escalation and a new wave of violence and thus avoid obligations from the Brussels and Ohrid Agreements, which included the formation of the Community Serb-majority municipalities, RTV reports.

Brnabic, in a statement to the media in London, appealed to international partners to help Belgrade to preserve peace and stability and to continue insisting on the implementation of all agreements.

She said that she spoke with Great Britain's Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Stuart Peach, yesterday on how to improve the situation in the Western Balkans region and that they had also mentioned the topic of Kosovo.

"And how we can create better cooperation in this sense and closer communication between Great Britain and Serbia, we especially mentioned the topic of Kosovo and Metohija," Brnabic said.

She added that she had also spoken with Peach about the fact that, "not only did Kurti not implement the Brussels Agreement", but, as she stated, he had been actively working, "making moves directly contrary to what is stated in the Brussels Agreement".
