Vucic and Burns discuss Kosovo: Ensuring peace and security for the Serbian people is of key importance
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met today with Pastor Mark Burns, spiritual adviser to United States President Donald Trump, to discuss the further strengthening of bilateral relations between Serbia and the United States, as well as the situation in Kosovo, with particular emphasis on the position of the Serbian people, the protection of Serbian Orthodox religious sites, and the preservation of the region's rich spiritual and cultural heritage.
"I emphasized that it is of key importance to uphold religious freedoms and the rights of all people, as well as to ensure peace and security for our people," Vucic wrote on his Instagram account, buducnostsrbijeav.
The interlocutors also discussed the preservation of peace and stability in the region, underscoring the importance of dialogue and mutual understanding.
Vucic thanked Burns for paying tribute during his visit to Bratunac to innocent Serbian victims, conveying a message of peace, respect for all victims, and the need to preserve truth and remembrance for future generations.
"We also spoke about the values that unite our peoples—faith, family, freedom and mutual respect. I am convinced that it is precisely on these foundations that we can further strengthen cooperation and build even stronger ties between Serbia and the United States," Vucic concluded.
In recent days, Burns visited Kosovo, where, together with Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, he toured the Gracanica Monastery, the Visoki Decani Monastery, and the Patriarchate of Pec.
