Vucic: Elections in September at the latest, I will inform the people about it at a big meeting on May 26
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said that elections would be held in Serbia in September at the latest, and that he would inform the citizens about this on May 26 at, as he says, a large rally organized by the Serbian Progressive Party.
Vucic, after the presentation of the surrendered weapons in Smederevo, answering questions from journalists regarding the opposition's demand that Interior Minister Bratislav Gasic resign after the two tragedies that occurred in Serbia at the beginning of May, said that it did not occur to them to replace Gasic because he worke excellently, but that they "can meet even more" demands of the opposition by replacing the entire Government.
"It is not a problem if you are in favor of elections, on May 26 I will inform the people, we will go to the elections. This means that we will go to the elections in September at the latest. It's just that you will not choose which elections because this is not a fountain of wishes and the state is not a toy, and for everything else if you want to talk about reality shows and REM, everything else, we are ready," said Vucic, addressing the opposition leaders.
He also added that in a few days he would no longer be the president of the party, and that at the meeting on May 26 he would speak about how he saw Serbia in the following 10 years, with the fact that, as he says, he will be at the position of the president for another four years, and then some other people.
Stating that he is not speaking about the elections to be held as the president of the party, but as the president of the state, Vucic stated that someone must learn what politics could and could not go into.
"We can meet your demands even more, replace the entire government and immediately go to the elections. And for that you will only have to wait for May 26 and nothing more. No one here is guarding anyone's seats and you will see that very clearly. You want to talk about reality shows and REM? It's possible, but they won't talk," said Vucic.
