Vucic: Hard days ahead, Germans and Britons support Kurti

A very complicated situation awaits us after November 21. Albin Kurti is trying to expel the Serbs from their hearths with unilateral moves, the Serbian President  Aleksandar Vucic said today in Paris after a meeting with Josep Borrell and Miroslav Lajcak.

Vucic added that the Germans support Pristina.

"Great Britain is not part of the EU, Germany is, and Pristina has the support of Germany. They want to help them in every way and they don't really care that they can cause scandals and act contrary to the Brussels Agreement. I am very skeptical and I doubt the situation will change. If they want to give conditions to Pristina, they can always do so with visas, but it's clear that they won't, it's clear that they want to help them in every way. It is clear that it is the Germans who support them within the EU, and outside the EU it is Great Britain. Borell and Lajcak told me about the conversation with Kurti and they were not the least bit optimistic. It is difficult to find a rational proposal, you know who is to blame, and he has the protection of the very powerful. He can do whatever he wants, but he will always have the support of Germany and Great Britain", the president added.

According to him, Pristina intends to continue using force, to continue to mistreat the Serbian people, but Serbia will not give up anything of its own.

"Let's try to find a compromise solution. It is easy to trade other people's territories. What are some people waiting for in Europe? They are waiting for Serbia to make a mistake. For instance, first time the Serbs respond to the violence in Pristina, the Serbs will be blamed. You remember the situation with the train, they were bothered by the fact that 'Serbia' was written on the train and that the train was painted", said Vucic.
Speaking about a possible solution to the situation, Vucic said that it was difficult to find a proposal when you knew that it was Kurti and when he had the protection of powerful countries.

"Imagine how there would be no tension if the US gave up Washington, if Ukraine gave up Kyiv or Kharkiv. I don't know what's so strange about that. We are not going to give up anything of ours. That doesn't mean we should go to war, but rather sit down and talk and not to clash until we find a compromise solution", Vucic said.

Commenting on Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani's announcement of elections in four municipalities in the north of Kosovo, Vucic assessed that they only want to say that they want to expel the Serbs from the north of Kosovo.

"They do not want to have Serbs in their system at all. This shows how much they want to cause incidents and chaos. It is clear that they are preparing for that", Vucic added.

Vucic also pointed out that he talked with the Hungarian president Katalin Novak about what is to come on Monday, about winter, gas quantities and reiterated that the relations between the two countries are at a historic high.

"We had a good conversation; there will be many more conversations. Now we are going to the premises where the forum is held, and tomorrow morning back to Belgrade".

Vucic, who is on a two-day visit to Paris, where he is attending the peace forum, met with Lajcak and Borrell for a working lunch today.

Today in Paris, Borrell and Lajcak also spoke with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the topics, as reported by the Pristina media, were the implementation of the decision on vehicle license plates, the dialogue between the two sides, and the latest developments in the situation in Kosovo and Metohija.
