Vucic informed Botsan-Kharchenko about the violence exerted by Pristina against Serbs

President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, met today with the Russian Ambassador, Aleksandr Botsan-Kharchenko, whom he informed about the political, legal, and physical violence exerted by Pristina against Serbs in Kosovo.

According to the statement from the Presidency, Vucic expressed his concerns once again about the security situation in Kosovo, which, as he stated, not only threatens the lives and survival of Serbs but also contributes to escalating tensions in the entire region. President Vucic also emphasized that Serbia remained committed to pursuing a responsible policy of peace and stability.

Ambassador Botsan-Kharchenko emphasized that official Moscow closely monitored all developments and understood Serbia's position as well as the sensitivity of the situation, as stated in the press release.

President Vucic informed Ambassador Botsan-Kharchenko that he believed it was necessary to hold a special session of the United Nations Security Council to inform the entire world about the tense situation in Kosovo and the difficult position of the local Serbs.

On his Instagram profile "buducnostsrbijeav," Vucic stated that Serbia would request a session of the Security Council.

"I informed the Ambassador of the Russian Federation, Botsan-Kharchenko, about the political, legal, and physical violence exerted by Pristina against Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija and stated that Serbia found itself in an extremely difficult situation. That is precisely why the Republic of Serbia will request a session of the UN Security Council to inform the entire global public about attempts to jeopardize peace and stability in the Western Balkans," Vucic said.
