Vucic: It is clear that there is interference by major powers in domestic relations; cooperation with the Socialist Party of Serbia continues

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said tonight that it was clear that there was interference in domestic relations by major powers, who wanted to achieve their goals through the Serbs.

"Just look at the statements of officials from both the East and the West, everyone is counting on winning here for the side they want to fight for because they won't win easily in the war in Ukraine," Vucic said in the "Prva Tema" show on TV Prva.

He added that Serbia had been in a terrible position regarding Kosovo for decades.

"We did not understand what was happening, we had great losses, human, in infrastructure, and then and after that, our country was just destroyed, in general looting. We had to literally fight for the survival of our people, to preserve the hearths. But we are in a much better condition than we were," Vucic said.

Commenting on the accusations of dictatorship in the parliament, he said that it had been a part of everyday life, and that, apparently, it had been a democracy when presidents and prime ministers had not come to the assembly.

He repeated that he had participated in the debate for the fourth time and that some had expected to "wipe the floor" with him for the fourth time, but that had not happened, because, as he said, facts, results, seriousness, and responsibility spoke best.

He also pointed out that no one had noticed that no one had been excluded from this session, nor had anyone been punished for violence, rampage, bringing banners, and attacking him and the president of the parliament, which had been the case under the previous government, and added that no one had said that this was progress in terms of democratic rules and procedures.

"It was important for us to hear all the arguments. The session came in handy to debunk nonsense and lies. You heard that Ana Brnabic had a Croatian passport, but Milos Jovanović had a French passport, and we wouldn't have mentioned that if they hadn't been lying. They said that we had given two million to Hillary Clinton. It's made-up news, from five years ago, that they themselves believed," Vucic said.

When asked about cooperation with Socialist Party of Serbia, Vucic said that it would continue in the next six months or a year.

"I respect Socialist Party of Serbia, we did a lot of good things with them, and I hope that they will in the next six months or a year, and after that, we can sit down again and see how we proceed. The conversation went well, but that's not all from yesterday. I am grateful to them for supporting me in the elections," Vucic said.

He repeated that no one had to explain to him why he, his family, and children were the daily target of attacks.

"Because I don't want to be blackmailed, nor do I want to flatter anyone to write well about me; if they don't see how hard I fight and work, I will not participate in that," Vucic said.
