Vucic: The lives of the Serbs are not worth less than the lives of others; Serbia will not be satisfied until the full truth is known
President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, addressed the citizens today in a video message on Instagram, stating that Serbia would prevail, despite the efforts of some to destroy it.
"Dear citizens of Serbia, we have just experienced seven difficult days, perhaps the toughest in the last 15 years. The toughest due to the events in Kosovo and Metohija, but also because of the all-encompassing campaign launched against our Serbia, a campaign of lies and untruths. And as people say every cloud has a silver lining. We could see that we have friends; they are not numerous, but they are brave. These are people who dignifiedly protect both the UN order and the right of small nations to have their say and the right to the survival of small nations. We were also confronted with the most severe possible pressures. One principle applies to all others, and suddenly it does not apply to just one, and that is the Serbs," Vucic said.
In the past few days, he said that there had been many lies about the presence of Serbian military forces.
"In fact, to be completely open, what bothered them was realizing that Serbia has, as they say, sophisticated weapons. We will continue to invest in the defense of our country, but Serbia wants peace. Everything they were saying was made up and false, and they knew they were making up and lying. However, the most difficult thing was to hear stories about how we must applaud the action of the so-called Kosovo Police, and it was in vain that we questioned why EULEX was refused to participate in the operation itself, instead they were placed in the operational room to watch from a distance what they were doing, and they had to support it because everything against the Serbs must be applauded. These attempts to silence us about how some Serbs were killed have not succeeded and will not pass, so I inform you that within 24 hours, you will be able to hear and see it. We have eyewitness testimonies from people who were on the scene and saw how and in what way at least one wounded man was killed, savagely. Serbia will not be satisfied until the full truth is known because the lives of the Serbs are not worth less than the lives of others. I am not interested in who will exert what pressures, just as I am not interested in how and in what way they plan to hurt Serbia with their lies, both in the region and in certain Western media," Vucic said.
He emphasized that they could only dream about the independence of Kosovo.
"Our goal is to unite, to become even stronger, to build more factories, more roads, hospitals, to strengthen our army, to protect our country, to protect our Serbia. The independence of Kosovo, you can only dream about it. Serbia will preserve the Charter of the United Nations, Serbia will preserve Resolution 1244, and Serbia will preserve its territorial integrity. Long live Serbia, Serbia will prevail," Vucic concluded.
