Vucic: Pristina's tactic is never to establish the CSM

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has stated this evening that Pristina's tactic is never to establish the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities, and that it does so through daily provocations of the Serbs, and has expressed his belief that Kosovo will remain in Serbia during his mandate.

When asked where Kosovo will be at the end of his mandate, Vucic answered:

"I think it will be in Serbia. That's what I said in the Parliament, and after me, ask someone else where it will be".

"That they left it to me in Serbia, not in the formal sense, and what consequences we faced in all the previous 20 years... Give the answer yourself," Vucic told for RTS.

According to him, Kosovo has become a world issue and that is why so many people from the international community are "calling".

"I think Kosovo will be in Serbia. I think we will suffer a lot. Especially our people in Kosovo and Metohija," the President of Serbia underlined.

Vucic pointed out that Pristina's tactic is never to implement the CSM, and that is why they provoke the Serbs every day.

In this regard, he reminded that they arrested the president of the handball team, and before that Miljan Adzic, Dejan Pantic, Sladjan Trajkovic, Miljan Jovanovic, Milovan Bozovic, Miljan Delevic were shot in the back.

During that time, he added, 11 Serbian houses were broken into, and more than 212 incidents have been recorded since Albin Kurti came to power.

Vucic reported that three young Serbs, in recent days, managed to escape from the handcuffs at the Jarinje and Brnjak administrative crossings, when they wanted to arrest them.

"They are arresting young guys, the most capable of opposing them, so that they can invade and rule the north by force," he said.

Vucic indicated that they wanted to hold local elections in the north of Kosovo, and only Kurti's and Thaci's parties would participate.

Serbs, as he emphasized, would not participate in those elections.

"Imagine that democracy, they come to Belgrade to tell us that there is not enough democracy, because we have not created the conditions for some to participate, and in Kosovo they say that the Serbs are to blame for not going to the elections, because they did not fulfill the basic condition of the CSM", Vucic stated.

He criticized the silence of the West and recalled the statement of the American ambassador in Pristina, Jeffrey Hovenier, who praised "democracy in Kosovo" and the attitude of Kosovo Albanians towards minority communities and religious and cultural heritage.

"I guess because they burned and demolished them all. Paper stands everything. How is it possible that the West can do all this, that Pristina releases Azem Kurtaj, who shot Serbian children, and arrests Ivan Todosijevic for the truth about Racak", he said.

He asked how the West could allow local elections in the north and said he had begged 50 times for them to be postponed.

He said that Serbs would not discuss participation in those elections at all.

Asked what will happen after the election, he said "Kurti will successfully rule North Mitrovica", a city where two percent of Albanians live.

"You can imagine that legitimacy. It will be like under occupation and that's why the Serbs are worried," Vucic underlined.

He asked what he could do, because he could not bring tanks into Kosovo, since we could not defeat NATO, and he did not want our citizens to die, he wanted normal relations.

Regarding the trial in The Hague, he says that he did not expect anything.

"It is not mine to expect anything, but the question arises – were not they convincing us that they were all angels and wonderful people, and now they are being tried for war crimes. What did you build that country on?" he asked.

When it comes to the Franco-German plan, Vucic said:

They brought us to him, but we got to him much earlier".

He reminded that when the Stabilization and Association Agreement was signed, until the candidacy, it was known that a legally binding agreement would have to be reached.

"The Germans commented that it was recognition, the USA the same, and now they gave up on it. That is good news," he stressed.

Vucic said that good news was that someone was thinking that Serbs and Albanians would have to live next to each other in the future.

Moreover, everything that concerns Serbia and its statehood in Kosovo, he says, there is nothing good in that document.

"That's the distribution of forces; it has nothing to do with us. No one asked me for a single word, and I said unequivocally what we were not going to fulfill. We will fulfill something, and I clearly said what we will not implement," he said.

He assessed that the CSM, which Pristina does not want to implement, would be a great success for Serbia and the Serbs, and that it would fundamentally change many things, primarily regarding the rights of Serbs, which would be more protected.

When asked if this means the CSM in independent Kosovo, he said that this was how they perceived it, and not only Albanians, but also their Western partners, who killed Serbia and declared independence at the time of their favorite persons who they brought to power in 2008.

"Those who beat us did not do it because of Slobodan Milosevic, but because of their geopolitical interests, in order to seize Kosovo and they are still surprised by a miracle that we are still struggling and fighting for respect for international law," he stated.

We are doing everything we can to save people, we don't need a conflict with NATO

Vucic said that Serbia was doing everything it could to allocate huge funds for investments in Kosovo, in order to save the Serbian people, while at the same time leading the fight through conversation and dialogue, both in Brussels and in every other place.

"Whoever thinks that we should go into conflict with NATO, I will say that he is not normal, even though today we have a stronger and more serious army. If we didn't have it, others would also steal pieces of territory from us, and it would be much easier to end things in Kosovo... Do I long for a conflict with NATO? I will do my best to never have it," Vucic said.

He points out that even if he wanted to, but he does not want to, Serbia should not have quarrels and conflicts with the Western world and NATO.

"And even if you want it, do we have a chance to get it? We do not have any. The question is whether Russia has a chance, and not us, surrounded from all sides...“, Vucic stressed.

He said that people in Serbia needed to stop dreaming big, it was necessary to strengthen the country, the army, so that everyone knew that they would get an answer, but to preserve peace and stability.

"Let's try to move from enmity to friendship, or at least partnership, and make it a success instead of competing in how much we curse someone," President Vucic added.
