Vucic: The Serbs will not forget Zeman's words about Kosovo; they remain in the hearts of our citizens

President Aleksandar Vucic said after the meeting with Czech President, Milos Zeman, who was on an official visit to Belgrade, that the Serbs would never forget Zeman's words about Kosovo.

"Dear Mr. President, dear friend Milos, I was given the opportunity and honor to address him by name, and this speaks of the sincere friendship of our countries. In the past 10 years, the trade exchange between our countries has increased 2.8 times, which was 1,700,000 million euros in 2022. In a political sense, I am particularly happy. What he said about Kosovo remained in the hearts of our citizens," Vucic said.

Vucic added that Zeman had shown courage like no other and that the Serbs would never forget what Zeman had said. The President of Serbia also emphasized that there were many projects that the Czech Republic and Serbia were working on.

"The Czech house is a place that will be important in our relations. Some factories want additional investments in our dedicated industry. Peace must no longer be mentioned anywhere. Since it is so, I have to take care of the dedicated industry. We sell weapons neither to Russia nor to Ukraine, but we want to sell to others. We cooperate and will do a lot on the issue of traffic. We also discussed the situation in Ukraine, and we agree that we respect the territorial integrity of Ukraine. Serbia is the only one that has not imposed sanctions on Russia. We have had experience with sanctions and we know that they didn't do anyone any good," Vucic said.

The President of Serbia wished Zeman to stay in political life for a long time.

"I wish Zeman good health; I congratulate the newly elected president of the Czech Republic. Everything you do, Serbia will never forget. You rarely have the opportunity to talk with a man of such intellectual capacity as Zeman. You will always be respected here, I had the privilege of speaking with you several times, and to call each other friends," Vucic emphasized.

Vucic had previously formally welcomed Zeman in front of the Palace of Serbia, with the singing of the national anthems of the two countries, a red carpet, and the guard of the Serbian Army.
