Vucic: There will be more attempts to cause riots like tonight; our job is not to succumb to pressure
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said tonight that the citizens who had gathered tonight in front of the Presidency were not informal extremist groups, but were supported by at least four parliamentary parties.
"They would not deserve special attention, but they are not informal extremist groups, but they are supported by at least four parliamentary parties. Their presidents and representatives were at that protest. This was not some people who found themselves by chance and did not know what they were doing. They knew and that's all planned," Vucic explained to Pink.
Vucic said that there would be more and more such attempts, like tonight's attempts to cause disorder, because many people in the world would do everything to destroy the stability of Serbia.
"Our job is not to succumb to pressure and to conduct our policy. We will deal with all the most important things. Once and for all, everyone must learn that in Serbia people come to power and leave power only by electoral will," he underlined.
Vucic underlined that the times when foreign services had positioned and removed governments from power in Serbia are long gone, that those had been times that cost the country dearly, political and national dignity.
"I would like to congratulate the citizens on the holiday and tell them to sleep peacefully. The country of Serbia is strong enough to defeat all extremists; all those who want to kill citizens. I say to our people in Kosovo and Metohija, we are with them and we will protect Kosovo and Metohija, and our Serbia," he underlined.
Vucic, when asked whether the rally had been registered, said that everything related to technical details had to be asked the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
"But there's no doubt that they didn't do anything in accordance with the law, and it doesn't matter, because what they did - shouldn't be done. But the hysterical cries speak volumes about how hysterical they are because of the defeat in the elections and in the assembly," he explained.
He pointed out that speaking today in Kragujevac and later in Belgrade, he had said that adventurism was possible when you created a state, and when you had one, the state did not tolerate adventurism, the state could not withstand irresponsible, frivolous, and anti-state behavior.
"That's why there must be those in the leadership who understand what the country is. You called them pro-Russian - I don't know if they are. They are citizens of Serbia. I only know that they are anti-Serbian because everything they do is against their people and Serbia," Vucic underlined.
He said that if someone was in favor of someone else, he should first love his people. He pointed out that we had deep emotions towards Russia and the Russian people, and reminded that Serbia had not imposed sanctions on Moscow.
"Unlike these people, I have conviction, I don't need someone from the Wagner Group to pat me on the shoulder and tell me what I should do, it's enough that I believe what's best for Serbia," he emphasized.
He said that they had called for the most serious violence.
"When you say that you are ready for much more than riots, what is more, if not bloodshed and murder. Who would you kill, on whose orders? Do you think that is possible, will you find an answer in that way," he asked.
Vucic also said that at the session of the assembly, it had been clear that violence had been the only argument they had had, and when they had been defeated by political arguments, then they had switched to the only possible argument - violence.
"And when that didn't work out for them either, they switched to street violence... Do you think I'm going to be scared, as some before you thought?" And, the only difference is that before, they at least hid and invented reasons for violence, now they openly call for violence. No one fabricated the carbine, the arrested person publicly said during interrogation that he had gone to Belgrade for a rally," Vucic said.
Therefore, he said, citizens should think about what kind of country they wanted to live in.
"My message to the citizens is not to worry, the state will ensure peace and security for all of them," President Vucic said.
Vucic: Serbia can never be defeated; the competent authorities will preserve the peace
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, stated that the competent state authorities were fully in control of the situation in the country and that the citizens could be calm, and said that everyone who thought they could bring Serbia down with brutal lies and threats, with support from the outside, would never be able to do it.
"People can be calm and peaceful. They have a state that will take care and will not allow any thugs, extremists to threaten the integrity and constitutional order of Serbia with any political and other protection from the outside, either from the West or the East," Vucic said.
He added that he had recently warned that difficult times were coming and that spears would break over Serbia because a major world conflict was underway.
"It is up to us to preserve the peace and to think about what lies ahead, to build a future for our children. We have lost many children, we cannot lose more," Vucic said.
As he said, he did not want to fall for the provocations of those who, he said, had done the worst for the country, and now they were saying that the government was doing something for the interests of the Serbs, against the territorial integrity of Serbia.
"No, we are doing everything to defend the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, to preserve Kosovo and Metohija in Serbia, but it is not worth explaining to those who think that Serbia should become part of a war zone and a target for the subversion of great powers," Vucic said.
It is his job, as president, to guard, protect and defend Serbia from the games of irresponsible people and from adventurism.
That was why he reiterates, the competent state authorities will take all measures against all those who threatened with beatings and riots, in accordance with the law.
In response to the statement that some had announced protests or something even more extreme, Vucic said that the state would not only be ready to resist it but would react efficiently, quickly, seriously, and responsibly.
"Those who think they can bring down Serbia with untruths, brutal lies, one with threats with a rifle, several connections in some foreign country, financial support they receive from some foreigners, and justifying everything with great patriotism - they can never defeat Serbia," Vucic said.
A difficult period is ahead of us
He repeated that a difficult period was ahead of us and that in a few days, he would travel to the Munich Security Conference, where he would talk with numerous world statesmen.
These, he added, would not be easy conversations, but they had to be discussed so that Albin Kurti did not get the opportunity to speak against Serbia.
Vucic, however, noted that after that there would be good news for Serbia, such as the opening of factories because this was what guaranteed the future, and enabled higher wages and pensions.
We would not let anyone stop Serbia's progress, President Vucic said.
"And I'm always ready for elections, and we can always check the will of the people. But Serbia will not serve anyone in the world. The state leadership will keep its policy because we do not have a spare homeland. Only one - Serbia. I am fed up with those who say - if you choose this path, then Serbia is on the right path... Only Serbia's path is the right path. We have the only one country and we will not give it away," Vucic said.
