The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said this evening that in Kosovo, there is an attempt to end the Serbian question, by Albin Kurti, in which part the international community also participates.

Vucic said, after the session of the National Security Council, that many fabrications can be heard from the international community about the situation on the ground in the north of Kosovo.

"Kosovo police, not special, even ordinary, must not be in the north, except for the northern directorate. Let's not talk about the fact that yesterday and today they raided with special units, which the international community pretends not to see," Vucic said for RTS.

The President of Serbia called on the Serbs from Kosovo to remain calm and not fall for provocations.

"What we announced yesterday and in the previous days and weeks has been happening. First of all from the international aspect, in which you have direct forgeries, naked lies about the situation on the ground. On the ground, we have a difficult struggle of a people for survival on their hearths," Vucic said.

Vucic referred once again to yesterday's arrest of Dejan Pantic and reminded that he recently had a heart surgery.

"He is a CVD patient and receiving therapy, and the family has not yet been informed of his whereabouts. So much for the legal system," Vucic said.

Vucic pointed out that it is important to call for peace and to release Dejan Pantic, as he added, an innocent man.

"Now they must not release him because it is clear that they arrested him completely innocent. What were they doing in the north? According to which legal act," asked Vucic.

Vucic added that no one from Belgrade ordered the barricades and that no one could blame Serbia for that.

"It is important for us to call on both Albanians and Serbs to maintain peace, to calm the situation. I call on the Serbs in the north of Kosovo and Metohija not to fall for provocations. We have no indication of an attack on EULEX. That must not even happen," Vucic said.

Assessing the tolerant attitude of the international community towards Pristina, Vucic said that America is "cradling its child".

"They made a monster together 23 years ago. They finished making it in 2008 and nothing more than that. The barricades were not made by someone on a whim and because they like to freeze. None of the Albanians moves that way. It is an expression of protest against arrests, mistreatment of people and failure to fulfill the Brussels agreement. Let our American partners tell us which legal act they and Pristina respect. Just tell us one. They only stick to the "act" so that they can do anything, as long as they want and as much as they want. We are forced against the wall. For me, this is the most difficult day since I have been president or prime minister, and the most difficult night is ahead of me," Vucic said.

The President of Serbia added that there was information from KFOR that the Albanians would not take violent actions against the demonstrators.

"I issued the most important orders and the National Security Council accepted them. I am proud of our soldiers and policemen. We have never had such a mood of people to make themselves available to their motherland. I am proud of all soldiers and policemen. Before any order they get, we will try a million times before that to preserve peace and security for all our citizens," Vucic said.

The President of Serbia called on citizens to trust their leadership and the decisions it makes.
