Vucic: We will continue wholeheartedly to support our people in Kosovo

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic has stated tonight that the state will continue wholeheartedly to assist the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija.

"We have achieved results, but I don't want to boast about everything we have done so far because it is difficult to boast about what you have done for people going through such a difficult period as our people in Kosovo. Our goal is that no Serbian family in the province is without a roof over their heads, that for everyone who does not have a job in state institutions or cannot receive subsidies for a private business in agriculture, we additionally provide income through social benefits so that they can live decently," Vucic said during the presentation of the program "Leap into the Future - Serbia Expo 2027".

He emphasized that Serbia is investing seven million euros in a new university in Kosovska Mitrovica, and that five new kindergartens and a student dormitory in Lesak have been opened.

"We are investing in Gracanica, Kosovska Mitrovica, where we have numerous problems due to political issues," noted Vucic, adding that investments are being made and will continue to be made in churches, monasteries, and infrastructure.

"We invested in Rajska Banja, changed its appearance, and we will continue to help. Despite all the challenges, I believe that we will bring life back to Banjska and every other part of Kosovo and Metohija where our people live," said President Vucic.

According to the data from the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, in the last 10 years, 4,834 residential units have been built or renovated in Kosovo, including 371 houses, 1,340 apartments in 88 buildings, and 3,123 construction aid packages.

In the center of academic life in Kosovska Mitrovica, worth seven million euros, construction began in 2021. It was temporarily halted by Pristina. The facility, covering an area of 10,575 square meters, is planned to house the headquarters of the Rectorate, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, the Faculty of Economics, and the Faculty of Law, equipped with state-of-the-art offices and laboratories.

Apart from the student dormitory for the agricultural school in Lesak, Serbia is also investing in the construction of three new schools: an elementary school in Vidanje in Klina, a Medical High School in Kosovska Kamenica, and a Technical School in Srbica.

Over the past 10 years, the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, in collaboration with the Raska-Prizren Eparchy, has restored 53 churches and monasteries.

There are plans for the construction and equipping of the gallery "Prizren House – Room of Remembrance March 17", the "Room of Remembrance Old Gracanica and Livadice", as well as the reconstruction and equipping of the Cultural Center in Goraždevac and Leposavic.

A total of 590 million dinars have been invested in the past 10 years in equipping medical institutions in Kosovo.

In the new maternity ward in Pasjane, built in 2015, 1,065 babies have been born.

There are plans for the renovation of all clinics in Serbian communities.

In the last three years, Serbia has invested 3.7 billion dinars in the development and support of agriculture, the economy, and entrepreneurship. Support has been extended to 2,000 farmers and entrepreneurs.

Through projects of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, 20 wineries have been supported, including those in the Orahovacko vineyard, the enclave of Velika Hoca, and other regions of Kosovo.
