Vucic: We will keep Serbia whole, as in the Constitution; we must not repeat the mistakes of the past
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said today that the state leadership would keep Serbia whole, as written in the Constitution, but also that we should not repeat the mistakes of the past, RTV reports.
Vucic told the citizens in Donji Tovarnik near Pecinci, as part of his visit to the Srem district, that Serbia was not going to have an easy period, but that responsible, serious, and wise politics were being conducted in our country.
"It is not an easy period ahead of us, but you should know that, when we lead a responsible, serious, and wise policy, Serbia always emerges as a winner," Vucic said in his address to the citizens.
He emphasized that we would keep our Serbia whole, but at the same time, we would not be isolated.
"We will keep the peace because we cannot lose anybody. We made many mistakes in the past and we must not repeat such mistakes," Vucic said.
The president announced that in October, the works on the 25-kilometer Asanja - Brestac road would begin, which would be completed by October 2024.
"It is an important road, which will be like a runway," Vucic added.
He emphasized that just 10 years ago, Serbia had had lower salaries than Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina and almost the same salaries as North Macedonia and Albania, while currently, we had the highest salaries.
"This is because we worked better and had better leadership than anyone else, so you should have confidence because we know what we have to do," Vucic said.
He announced that the reconstruction of the schools in Popinci and Pecinci would be done; that a hall would be built in Asanja, and a kindergarten in Obrez.
The president told the pensioners that this year they would have a big increase in their pension, which would be accompanied by an increase in wages.
