Vuletic: Barricades achieved their purpose; Serbs in Kosovo are well organized
Sociologist Vladimir Vuletic said that the barricades fulfilled their purpose and appeared as a reaction to Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s politics, RTS reports.
According to him, it was made clear to Kurti that he could not actualize what he envisioned.
"It has shown that Serbia is determined to defend the people of Kosovo and Metohija, and it has been shown by the deployment of the military forces but also by the fact that it was looking for peaceful solutions. Peace is in Serbia's interest," Vuletic pointed out.
Speaking about the arrest lists, he stated that it was part of the deal.
"If the arrest of Serbs were to continue, then it would be shown that the agreements do not apply to Kurti, and it would be shown whether the US and the EU can control him, or whether he is an instrument in their hands," Vuletic said.
He noted that the Serbs in Kosovo were very well organized.
"We have seen that only the policy of compromise made sense. Not all demands of the Serbs have been met. Peace is the main goal, and the Serbs have taken a step of goodwill," Vuletic said.
He considered the Patriarch Porfirije's ban on visiting as a provocation and added that it dug much deeper trenches.
