Vuletic: There's a great rush to conclude the situation in Kosovo and Metohija in a certain way

Sociologist Vladimir Vuletic states that on a global scale, "a significant shuffling of the cards" is happening, and it's not surprising that there's a rush to conclude things in Kosovo in a certain way, RTS reports.

"When it comes to the behavior of Pristina, the entire matter is also directed toward expediting the realization of a plan, which I would say is broadly outlined, a plan that Pristina has among its objectives, and that is to secure complete independence," Vuletic believes.

He suggests that the EU sanctions against Pristina should not be seen as punishment for mistreating Serbs but rather as a move that deviates from the plan due to a lack of complete synchronization.

The rush to conclude things shouldn't be surprising, he adds, because on a global level, there's "a significant shuffling of the cards" happening.

"We don't know how this will ultimately play out, but in any case, the old order we knew until 1990 no longer exists," Vuletic notes.

Regarding the letter sent by Western parliamentarians to negotiators, particularly special representatives in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, which suggests they're being too lenient toward Serbia, Vuletic noted that it would be quite serious if that represented the majority of parliamentarians.

"There's no doubt that there exists an active group of politicians in various parts of the world, especially in the West, and this isn't anything new, who view the entire Balkans in a way that's not at all pleasant for us and which is a reflection of the 1990s or the early 1990s," Vuletic assessed.
