Zemaj: Despite global events involving the U.S., Interest in Kosovo Remains
Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) MP Armend Zemaj stated that the visit of senior U.S. official Brendan Hanrahan to Kosovo is an indication that, despite a heavy agenda and global events involving the United States, there is still interest in Kosovo.
Speaking to Kosova Press, Zemaj said that it is in Kosovo’s best interest to deepen its partnership with the United States.
According to him, the political blockade in Kosovo has attracted the attention of the U.S., which could contribute to resolving the political deadlock through the constitution of the Assembly and the formation of a new government.
Zemaj expressed concern over the delay in appointing a new U.S. ambassador to Kosovo.
“For some time now, we haven’t had a U.S. ambassador in the country, which is concerning both for me and for the Democratic League of Kosovo, because the lack of representation at that level could be interpreted as a message to the government and the political class that the interest in partnership must come from our side as well and should not be one-sided,” Zemaj said.
