Construction work on a police station near the "Jovan Cvijic" Elementary School in Zubin Potok began on Friday, further unsettling the local residents.

In a conversation with Kosovo Online, the President of the Provisional Municipal Authority of Zubin Potok, Srdjan Vulovic, stated that on Monday, the school would file a complaint with the Prosecutor's Office to request a halt to the construction.

"They have started the work on St. Petka, who is celebrated as a patron saint by 70% of the people in Zubin Potok, and 30% go to the patron saint celebrations. We will do everything to protect the rights of our people. Lawyer Nebojsa Vlajic has been engaged, and a complaint will be filed on Monday to stop the construction. In 2018, the land was taken from the school by a decision from the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Pristina, but no one from the municipality has ever received a decision about it, nor has any building permit ever been requested for construction. Why have they suddenly started the construction now, you can speculate," Vulovic said.

Kosovo Police stated that according to the plan, police containers were supposed to be placed on the mentioned land in the immediate vicinity of the "Jovan Cvijic" Elementary School.

At this moment, it is not known whether regular police officers or special units of the Kosovo Police will be stationed in these containers.
