The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, stated that the Serbian people in Kosovo, by voting in large numbers yesterday despite numerous obstacles from Pristina, had demonstrated that no force or obstacle could stop them from supporting their state, Serbia, and their president, Aleksandar Vucic.

In the statement, Petkovic expressed gratitude to fellow countrymen in Kosovo and Metohija for their effort and dedication, as, he said, they once again showed to the whole world how loyal they are to their only state, Serbia, and how much they care about our Kosovo and Metohija.

At the same time, as he noted, the magnificent and convincing support for the "Aleksandar Vucic – Serbia Must Not Stop" list with over 73% support is another proof that Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija support the state-building policy of President Vucic and recognize his persistent and unwavering struggle for national interests in Kosovo and Metohija.

"The Serbs have simultaneously sent an unambiguous message to all those who remember them only before elections, that they do not fall for empty slogans. Our people in Kosovo and Metohija have once again shown that together, preserving unity, we can be the strongest barrier and bulwark against all those who want to erase the Serbian name and existence in Kosovo and Metohija," he stated.

Petkovic assessed that by preventing the Serbian people from exercising their voting right in Kosovo and Metohija, Albin Kurti had once again attacked the basic human and civil rights of Serbs, who had clearly shown him their will and determination to decide their future was unbreakable.

"And that is the message that should be well understood in Pristina and the international community. The state of Serbia will continue to economically support our people in the province even more strongly and to fight for peace and their security! Long live Serbia!" the director of the government's Office concluded.
