The Eparchy of Raska and Prizren issued a statement stating that it strongly condemns the latest attack that took place this morning in the north of Kosovo, near the village of Banjska, in which one Kosovo policeman was killed and two others were injured.

It is a serious incident that can have major consequences, and that is why it is very important that everything be done to preserve order, peace and order, the Eparchy of Raska and Prizren emphasizes.

"The Eparchy expresses its sincere condolences to the family members of the deceased policeman and sincerely hopes that the two wounded will recover as soon as possible. The Eparchy is very worried because according to the latest information, a group of armed, masked people entered the monastery in an armored vehicle, during which they broke into the monastery locked gate. At the moment, there is a group of pilgrims from Novi Sad in the monastery, with a priest, abbot Danilo, and the brothers of the monastery. For security, the brothers of the monastery and the pilgrims have locked themselves in the dormitory, and the temple of the monastery is also locked. Armed masked persons are moving around the courtyard and occasional shots are heard," the statement said.

The Eparchy strongly condemns the open violence that is used in the religious building of the Serbian Orthodox Church, calling on all parties to end the conflict as soon as possible.
