Former head of KSF Veseli: The announcement of the purchase of drones caused damage to KSF
The former head of the KSF, Afrim Veseji, said that it was important for the Kosovo Security Forces to be equipped with "Bajraktar" drones and pointed out that it was the first time that these forces had been equipped with such aerial military equipment, reports Gazeta Blic.
However, Veseli believes that the publication of the purchase of drones caused damage to KSF.
"I consider the exposure of drones to be wrong," he said.
According to him, that issue is so politicized that it harms the "national defense of the country".
Among other things, Veseli points out the problem of using airspace:
"For every military flight, we have to coordinate with KFOR or NATO," he emphasized.
He also says that he hopes for the understanding of NATO and the USA that they will leave aside the political aspect of supporting the KSF for the development of air capabilities.
He emphasizes that this achievement of KSF should not be misused for political purposes, mentioning President Vjosa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
On July 16, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced the purchase of "bairaktar TB-2" drones from Turkey, but did not specify their number.
At the presentation of the drones on Sunday, Kurti was accompanied by Defense Minister Armenda Mehaj and KSF commander Bashkim Jashari.
Kurti then said that Kosovo was now even safer and congratulated the officials who completed training on the use of drones.
