Hundreds of believers at the prayer service for Kosovo and Metohija in North Mitrovica

A prayer service for Kosovo and Metohija was held today in the Church of Saint Demetrius in North Mitrovica, which was attended by several hundred believers.

During the prayers, believers lit candles and prayed for the salvation of the holy places and the people of Kosovo.

Prayers are held in several temples, and with the blessing of the head of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Porfirije.

As stated on the website of the Serbian Orthodox Church, every Friday, starting at 5:00 p.m., "during the Great Feast that lasts 40 days, a prayer to the Holy Mother of God for the faithful people in Kosovo and Metohija; for our holy places in Kosovo and Metohija, and for our Kosovo and Metohija" would be served.
