US Embassy in Belgrade: Serbia is the only one in the region to send aid for the restoration of the electrical energy system of Ukraine

The Embassy of the United States of America in Belgrade thanked Serbia today for being the only country in the region to send aid for the restoration of the electrical energy system of Ukraine.

"Being a partner means helping when it's really needed. We are proud of Serbia as the only country in the region that sent aid for the reconstruction of the electrical energy system of Ukraine. With a donation of three million euros, ambulances, and a safe place for the recovery of Ukrainian children, Serbia continues with aid expressing solidarity with the people of Ukraine. Thanks to your generosity, there will be warmth and light where until now there was cold and darkness," the US Embassy tweeted.

The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, while sending off the truck with power equipment, said that Serbia would continuously provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine, as well as condemn all attacks on the civilian population and facilities in that country and any use of force contrary to international law.

"We have included in this our power companies, Public Enterprise Elektroprivreda Serbia and Elektromreza Srbije, which own this type of equipment, to allocate it in order to donate it to Ukraine. Today, we are implementing the Government's conclusion of January 19 and sending this aid to Ukraine through civil protection mechanisms," Brnabic said.
