The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dritan Abazovic, supports the "Open Balkan" initiative and said that it was not a substitute for the EU, but a means by which all countries paved the way to the EU and that he thought that after some political changes within the “house”, Podgorica could join the initiative.

"After some political changes, I think we can join the initiative," Abazovic said.

He said that it was not logical that this was happening now, given that parliamentary elections were scheduled.

"We'll see what the mood will be when it's all over. Montenegro is in 70 regional initiatives, we are here for regional cooperation, that is our foreign policy priority," Abazovic said.

He said that he saw the environmental problem in the region as a big problem.
