Gashi: It is not good that Mustafa was sentenced to 26 years of prison before the start of Thaci's trial

The lawyer Tome Gashi said that it was not a good sign that the former commander of the KLA, Salih Mustafa, had been sentenced to 26 years in prison by the Specialist Court in The Hague and added that even life sentences were foreseen, Ekonomia online reports.

He stated that Kosovo had given the right to the Specialist Court to impose a life sentence.

"Hashim Thaci, Jakup Krasniqi, Rexhep Selimi, and Kadri Veseli are expected to go on trial at the first court session, sometime in March or April 2023. I think it is not a good sign that Mustafa has been convicted. Unfortunately, we have given the right to the Specialist Court to sentence someone to life. Life sentences are foreseen," Gashi said.
