The Court of Appeal rejected the appeals of the Serbs arrested for Banjska, Delevic: Expected outcome

The Court of Appeal of Kosovo rejected the appeals of the three Serbs arrested for the incident in Banjska and confirmed the decision of the Basic Court in Pristina on the extension of detention. Lawyer Milos Delevic, the defense attorney for the arrested Vladimir Tolic, tells Kosovo Online that he is not surprised by the court's decision, because the goal is for all three to remain in custody until the indictment is filed.

In the announcement of the Kosovo Appellate Court, it is stated that the appeals of the defense attorneys of the defendants, Milos Delevic, Ljubomir Pantovic and Jovana Filipovic, were dismissed as unfounded and the decision of the Basic Court in Pristina on the detention of the three Serbs was confirmed.

On June 21, the special department of the Basic Court in Pristina ordered the defendants V.T., B.S. and D.M., due to the suspicion that they "committed serious crimes against the constitutional order and security of Kosovo" and "committed terrorist acts", extended the measure of detention for two months.

Today, the Court of Appeal issued a decision rejecting the appeals of their defense attorneys with the explanation that they are unfounded, with the assessment that "there is a risk that they will repeat criminal acts, commit other criminal acts, influence witnesses or leave Kosovo.”

Vladimir Tolic's lawyer, Milos Delevic, told Kosovo Online that he has not yet received the decision of the Court of Appeal, but that it does not surprise him.

"If the decision is published on the court's website, it is a matter of fact and we will probably receive it by email tomorrow as defense attorneys. It is a formality. As a lawyer, such a decision does not surprise me at all, it is expected. Their goal is for all suspects to remain in custody until the indictment is filed," Delevic said.

Suspects Vladimir Tolic, Blagoje Spasojevic and Dusan Maksimovic were arrested after the conflict in Banjska, and have been in custody since September 26 last year.
