The Basic Court in Mitrovica had ordered today a 30-day detention for Dalibor Spasic, who was suspected of attacking the RTV "21" journalist team, as well as for hooliganism, his lawyer Srdjan Mitrovic told Kosovo Online.

"He was remanded in custody and is on his way to or has already arrived at the prison in Podujevo due to the well-founded suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of attacking a journalist team and that he committed the criminal offense of 'committing criminal offenses in a group - hooliganism' for participating in protests," Mitrovic said.

He points out that he is convinced of Spasic's innocence.

"He is suspected unjustly, I think he is innocent," he states.

According to Mitrovic, the deadline for the appeal, which he announced he will file, is 48 hours.

"I was handed a decision on detention. Now I guess there is a higher instance that, if it can be fixed, we will see, but I will definitely file a complaint. They are using a video from the portal 'Kallxo', which was posted on their website on May 31, there their journalist was injured and the phone didn't even fall out of his hand and you can see, I've watched that video a dozen times, it can be seen that Spasic was not the one who hit him on the hand, on the phone," Mitrovic said.

He adds that the footage of the "Kallxo" portal is the crown evidence based on which Spasic is being charged.
