Police officer accidentally fires rifle in Zvecan, investigation underway

An incident occurred in Zvecan tonight, when, as Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police for the North Region, Veton Elshani, told Kosovo Online, there was an "accidental shooting." Kosovo Online has learned that the police officer accidentally fired a rifle.

Elshani said that the investigation unit and the Kosovo Police Inspectorate have been notified of the incident, which will determine exactly what happened.

"At this point, I cannot say anything more until the investigation is completed," Elshani added.

As Kosovo Online reports, the incident occurred while the police were conducting a routine check of a vehicle - a taxi, whose driver is U.D.

It all happened not far from the police station.
