A Serb was arrested in Leposavic who protested against Radomirovic's entry into the municipal building

Today, the Kosovo Police arrested Nebojsa Virijevic from Lesak, near Leposavic, who on Wednesday protested with his fellow citizens due to the attempt of the Deputy Minister for Communities and Return, Radojica Radomirovic, to enter the municipal building.

The arrest was confirmed for Kosovo Online by Virijevic's lawyer Nebojsa Vlajic, who said that his client had been detained by the police for 48 hours.

Virijevic, together with numerous citizens and workers of public institutions, has been protesting in front of the municipal building in Leposavic for three months against the imposition of illegitimately elected authorities, and he was also among the crowd that on Wednesday booed Radomirovic, who tried to enter the building with a group of ten people.

Vlajic says that Virijevic made a statement today regarding those events and that he will be brought before a judge tomorrow to testify about the event itself.

"He was taken into custody on charges of criminal threats allegedly committed against Radojica Radomirovic. I expect that he will be brought before a judge tomorrow in order to make a statement about the whole incident,” Vlajic says.

Virijevic is employed as a security guard at the preschool "Veselo detinjstvo" in Lesak, and his colleague Jasmina Savic tells Kosovo Online that her colleague was arrested on the doorstep, in front of his family and sick mother, and without any evidence.

"Just like the previous 90 days, on Wednesday we peacefully protested in front of the Leposavic Municipality building, every day we are here, doctors, educators, municipal workers, and all citizens who cannot exercise their rights in relation to personal documents and certificates that are issued in municipal offices. Today, in front of family members and his sick mother, Nebojsa Virijevic, my colleague with whom I have been working for ten years, was arrested on his doorstep. An honest and hard-working host and father of three children," Savic says.

He adds that Virijevic was arrested on the charge of threatening Radomirovic, which, according to Savic, is not true.

"Radomirovic was booed, but at no point was he threatened, even though he was filming the crowd, which is a criminal offense, as far as I know. We believe that what is being carried out on the Serbs represents the greatest possible torture. We are aware that Albin Kurti wants to intimidate the Serbs with this behavior so that we would no longer come in front of the municipality where we have been working for years," Savic says.

He states that Radomirovic tried to enter the building of the illegitimate mayor Lulzim Hetemi, who was elected with only 100 votes, with a group of ten people.

"None of us can understand how, in the face of the international community, which calls so much for democracy, in a purely Serbian environment, a man who has never seen fit to appear in front of the people he wants to represent, can be the mayor," Savic says.

She pointed out that she would not give up on her demands and that she would be in front of the municipal building tomorrow as well as every following day.

"We don't want to give up our demands and we will be there every next day. We will protest with all the democratic means that are allowed in the whole world," Savic says.
