Edi Rama: I did not close the Open Balkans

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said today that he never declared the Open Balkans initiative closed, and that his previous statements were misunderstood, reports Gazeta Express.

Speaking at the end-of-year conference in Tirana, Rama said that he never declared that he had "closed the Open Balkans", and that it was a ridiculous expression.

"I said something completely different, that the Open Balkans fulfilled its mission in that context, but that the initiative itself is an initiative like the others, and that is not opened or closed by me," said Rama.
