The President of the Democratic Union of Kosovo Lumir Abdixhiku criticized the approach that the Government of Kosovo had towards the United States of America. He stated that the institutions owed the people of Kosovo an explanation of how it was achieved that now there was no question of recognition in the comprehensive agreement with Serbia.

On Facebook, Abdixhiku reminded of February 7, 2021, when the US President Joe Biden "via a congratulatory message asked Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic to reach a comprehensive agreement with Kosovo focused on mutual recognition".

"So mutual recognition, i.e. the recognition of Kosovo's independence from Serbia, was the central policy of the Biden administration. As one of the presidents most concerned with the issue of Kosovo, from the 90s onwards, Joe Biden and his persistent position on Kosovo represented an exceptional opportunity for the people of our country," Abdixhiku wrote on Facebook.

According to him, after two years with Kurti's government, Kosovo's international position has clearly deteriorated. He said that a major ally, such as the US, had stressed that this was not the time for recognition.

"That attitude is the result of populist irresponsibility, which for the politics of the crowd failed to benefit from this administration, but irreparably degraded relations in attitudes that now normalize ignorance. And so, like nothing else, in the best moment in decades for Kosovo, and in the most difficult moment for Serbia and its ally Russia - the Government of Kosovo did the unthinkable, went back to the ground with its strategic partners, giving an unexpected gift to our historical opponent," wrote Abdixhiku.

He believes that the state leadership owes the people of Kosovo an explanation of how they came to this, in two years, pointing out that it is because their policy of tyranny has no patriotic explanation.
