Albanian greeting – double-headed eagle in a post of the Military Command of Vienna

In a post on the Facebook page of the Catholic military parish of the Military Command of Vienna, a photo of Austrian soldiers was posted, one of whom joined his hands in the sign of the 'Albanian eagle'.

“Initial training and prayer with 192 new soldiers of the 2nd Guard Unit in the second week of training. Much military success and may God bless you! Where we are, there are troops; where there are troops, we are“, is the message, accompanied by photos from the 'Radetzky' barracks in Horn.

In one of them, among the soldiers in the second row, there is a soldier who has clasped his palms in the well-known symbol of the "Albanian eagle".

The post prompted a reaction from the head of the foreign affairs committee of the Freedom Party of Austria (FPO) in Vienna, Maximilian Krauss.

He asked Michael Bauer, the spokesperson for the Austrian army, on the social network "X", "Why is an Austrian soldier in uniform making the Albanian greeting?"

Bauer responded briefly, saying:

"I will clarify that".
