The Ambassador of Israel thanked Serbia for its support
Members of the Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Israel of the Serbian Parliament spoke yesterday with the Ambassador of Israel to Serbia, Yahel Vilan, about the tragic events and the suffering of the Israeli people during the terrorist attack by Hamas.
As stated in the parliament's statement, they expressed their condolences and offered support to the friendly Israeli people, reminding that Serbia was also facing the activities of terrorist groups in Kosovo and "terrible crimes committed by the so-called KLA against Serbs, Roma, and Albanians", and that they understood very well the suffering of the victims of criminal terrorist activity.
The president of the friendship group, Milovan Drecun, expressed his condolences to the families of the victims.
"I strongly sympathize with the victims of the brutal attacks by Hamas and believe that Israel and the Jewish people will have the strength to overcome this terrible tragedy, that peace will be established, that the suffering of innocent people will end and that a normal and safe life will be made possible for Israelis and Palestinians," Drecun said.
Ambassador Vilan expressed his gratitude to Serbia for its support to Israel and informed the interlocutors in detail about the events that began with the terrorist attack by Hamas on October 7 and talked about many previously unresolved situations, which contributed to understanding the situation that Israel was facing.
He particularly pointed out the necessity of urgently solving the fate of the 199 hostages who were kidnapped by Hamas.
As the ambassador emphasized, Israel is a democratic country that strives to reduce the number of civilian casualties, but, as he said, it will also do everything necessary to completely eliminate Hamas, both as a political organization and as a terrorist group.
