In Belgrade today, a "Walk for Peace in Israel" was held, and participants lit candles for the victims of the attacks in Israel and recited a prayer for peace at the plateau near The Victor monument in Kalemegdan, N1 writes.

Citizens paid tribute to the victims with a minute of silence.

Previously, they gathered at the plateau in front of the Faculty of Philosophy and embarked on a "Walk for Peace in Israel" along Knez Mihailova Street to Kalemegdan.

Citizens carried Israeli flags and a banner reading "Walk for Israel", as well as photographs of the killed and kidnapped.

The organization "Haver Serbia" stated that the "Walk for Peace" was dedicated to all the victims of the terrorist attack on October 7, their families, and friends.

"We share in the grief of the victims' families as we pray for the release of all hostages to return home," the organization stated.

They emphasized that the horrifying images from Israel, and the brutal terrorist crimes against the civilian population, including many children, youths, and the elderly, must never be forgotten.

"This was a planned and organized attack with the aim of killing as many Jewish women and men as possible. A day that will be remembered in history as the largest pogrom against Jews since World War II. It is our human duty to loudly condemn and stand up against this cruel act of terrorism. It is not the time for silence," the organizers said.

According to them, achieving peace will be challenging and time-consuming, but it is possible with courage, empathy, solidarity, strength, responsibility, understanding, and hope.
