DLK member Visar Azemi stated that the insufficient work of the current government of Albin Kurti is the main reason why citizens are faced with a lack of electricity, TV Klan Kosova reports.

As he says, the government's failure to invest in new energy infrastructure contributed to the deepening of the energy crisis.

"This government has failed to address the outdated electrical infrastructure and this will lead to blackouts and power shortages. Moreover, this government, as we have seen in the new energy strategy, does not encourage the development of alternative energy sources, thereby increasing our dependence on limited resources and imports, and leading to price increases and supply disruptions," Azemi said.

Among other things, Azemi assesses that Kurti's government has not adopted an energy strategy, nor any plan of action and investment in production.

"Thus, the 51 percent government, in two years in power, failed to have either an energy strategy, an action plan, or investments in the production of new capacities. Today we pay much more for electricity than two years ago and we are on the verge of another increase. If the passivity of the government is added to the failures in the procurement processes for the overhaul of the Kosovo A power plant block, it turns out that the government enabled the ambassador and oligarch Martin Berishaj to sell more imported energy to Kosovo for an astonishing price, this scandal is already of regional proportions," he said.

He warned that the energy crisis will have serious consequences for the economy, security and quality of life of citizens, so it is important to take proactive steps to solve it.

"Unfortunately, Kurti's government has not taken any steps, and the energy is only used for propaganda videos," Azemi concluded.
