Producers in Kosovo: The supply of raw materials is difficult, there is no electricity, and the government is not helping
Producers in Kosovo complain that they face great difficulties in the supply of raw materials and lack of electricity and ask the Kosovo government for concrete support, not just statements, Ekonomija online reports
The owner of the company "Fruteks" Shaqir Palushi said that 2022 was the most difficult year due to the circumstances in the world. He says that every week they face a lack of electricity, as well as a continuous increase in the price of raw materials.
Palushi said that they did not have any support from the Government other than statements, asking for subsidies for exports, i.e. payment of profit tax for the part that is exported.
"I think that the Government should do much more for business entities that export and bring in money," said Palushi.
The owner of the company "Mecca Halal Food", Burim Piraj, also said that they had problems with the high prices of raw materials and the lack of electricity, and that the political situation and the non-revocation of visas created difficulties for them.
"Kosovo does not have a stable political status and it causes many problems, especially when it comes to the export of products of animal origin, so those countries that have not recognized Kosovo are resisting the pressure to cancel visas for citizens of Kosovo in order to travel to Europe and develop the economy," Piraj said.
